X Ends Revenue Share, Introduces Original Content Rewards Programme
X is a social media app where people post messages, pictures and videos.
X used to pay some creators based on how many people saw their posts.
That old payment plan has now ended.
X has a new plan called the Original Content Rewards Programme.
It pays people for sharing new and original things they created themselves.
To join, you must be at least 18 years old.
You also need to pay for X Premium and have at least 500 verified followers.
Your posts need to be seen by at least 500,000 verified people in the last 90 days.
You get paid every two weeks based on how many Premium users see your post.
Content copied from other people or other apps will not earn money.
X (formerly Twitter) has discontinued its creator revenue share programme and replaced it with the Original Content Rewards Programme, announced on Friday, August 7.
The new programme rewards original writing, threads, Articles, reporting, photos, videos, memes, graphics and commentary from creators.
Eligibility requires a Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription, being at least 18 years old, 500 verified followers, and 500,000 verified home timeline impressions in the last 90 days.
Creators earn from unique impressions by Premium users on the Home Timeline feed where at least 50 per cent of the post is visible, with payouts every two weeks and the first payout on August 28.
Existing revenue share members keep earning until September 7, 2026 with three final payouts (August 14, August 28, September 11) and can apply for the new programme starting September 8, 2026.
