Annapurna Yojana: 17 lakh names rejected over Aadhaar issues
The Bengal government has a program called Annapurna Yojana that gives money directly to women.

About 17 lakh women had their names removed from the list.
This happened because of problems with their Aadhaar cards, which are special ID cards in India.

The third payment will be sent between August 17 and 20.
About 1.45 crore women will receive the money in their bank accounts.
The government has set aside Rs 4,350 crore for this payment.
Officials shared this news at a press conference at Nabanna.
Around 17 lakh applicants for the Annapurna Yojana had their names rejected over Aadhaar-related issues after verification.
The rejection came ahead of the disbursement of the third tranche of funds for the direct cash transfer scheme for women.
The government will disburse the third installment between August 17 and 20 to 1.45 crore beneficiaries.
The scheme has 1.62 crore total applicants, and Rs 4,350 crore has been allocated for the third installment.
