West Bengal CM Announces Annapurna Yojana Reapplication Portal
In West Bengal, the government gives some women money every month to help them.
A man named Suvendu Adhikari, who is the Chief Minister, told everyone about a new plan.
Women who were told no before can now try again.
They will use a special website to ask for the money again.
The website is called a 'claim and objection' portal.
People can also tell the government if someone is getting the money who should not be.
So far, 1.45 crore women get this money.
But 17 lakh women were told no, and 14 lakh are still waiting to be checked.
The Chief Minister announced this at a fun event in Kolkata.
This gives many women another chance to get the help they need.
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a dedicated 'claim and objection' portal for Annapurna Yojana, opening Wednesday.
The portal will let rejected applicants reapply for the Rs 3,000 monthly financial assistance scheme.
Citizens can also use the portal to flag ineligible beneficiaries receiving the grant.
To date, 1.45 crore women in Bengal have been enrolled as beneficiaries under the scheme.
Approximately 17 lakh applications have been rejected while 14 lakh remain under verification.
