Calcutta traffic police list damaged roads ahead of Durga Puja
Calcutta is a very big city.
It rains a lot there during the monsoon season.
The heavy rain has made holes in many roads.
These holes are called potholes.
The traffic police have been asked to find the bad roads.
They will take photos of them and make a list.
The government wants the roads fixed before Durga Puja.
Durga Puja is a big festival that starts on October 16.

Traffic guards across Calcutta and its added areas have been asked to identify damaged roads, poorly lit stretches and locations without median dividers.
Traffic officers will photograph affected stretches and submit compiled reports to the traffic police headquarters at Lalbazar.

On July 28, chief minister Suvendu Adhikari held a meeting with officials and instructed them to complete repairs by the deadline.
Potholes have developed on stretches of Ballygunge Circular Road, Beleghata Main Road, Rashbehari Connector and EM Bypass after prolonged waterlogging.
A preliminary list of damaged roads has reached the PWD, with photographs uploaded to a common portal.
The Met office has forecast heavy rainfall in north Bengal and widespread showers across south Bengal in the coming days.
