Nine booked for alleged moral policing, assault in Dakshina Kannada
The police in a place called Dakshina Kannada have opened a case against nine people.
Someone complained that these people stopped a young woman and her friends while they were going home from work.
The accused are said to have used bad words and stopped the group from moving ahead.
When the young woman and her family members came to help, they were also said to have been hurt and verbally abused.
The complaint was filed by an 18-year-old woman named Fayiza.
The police say the incident happened on August 12.
A case has been registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
