Six booked in Jalna over alleged assault involving cow dung
Police in Jalna have registered a case against six people.
A Dalit man said they stopped his vehicle while he was returning from a cattle market.
He said they asked questions about a bull he was transporting.
He also said they hit him and used caste-related insults.
According to his complaint, cow dung was forced into his mouth.
He said the group also tried to put cow dung into his young son’s mouth.
Another man traveling with them was allegedly assaulted, and their vehicle was damaged.
The complaint was made several months after the alleged event because the man said he had been threatened and later learned a video had been shared online.
Police are investigating the allegations under criminal and anti-caste-atrocity laws.
