JD(S) leader arrested for assaulting Bengaluru traffic police constable
A man who is an important leader of a political party in Karnataka got into trouble with the police.
He was driving his car in Bengaluru when a traffic police officer asked him to stop.
The officer was doing his job, helping other cars pass safely.
The leader got angry and got out of his car.
He shouted bad words at the officer and hurt him, making his face bleed.
Someone filmed what happened and the video spread all over the internet.
Many people were upset when they saw the video.
At first, the officer was told to say sorry to the leader, which made other police officers angry.
Later, the police arrested the leader for hurting the officer.
Now the police are investigating what happened.
JD(S) general secretary Manjunath C was arrested for allegedly abusing and assaulting a traffic police constable in Bengaluru.
The incident occurred on August 16 at Gottigere Junction when constable Arun Manjappa Badagoudra signalled Manjunath's car to stop while regulating traffic.
Manjunath allegedly abused, headbutted and punched the constable in the face, causing bleeding injuries, before fleeing the spot.
A viral video showed Manjunath grabbing the constable by the collar and kicking him, drawing widespread public outrage.
The constable was initially made to apologise to Manjunath by senior officials, angering junior police personnel before an FIR was registered.
