World Scholar's Cup 2026: Greenwood High Students Advance to Yale

Some very smart students from Greenwood High International School did really well in a big worldwide academic competition called the World Scholar's Cup.

The competition took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and about 2,000 students from 26 countries took part.

The students worked in teams of three and competed in debates, collaborative writing, quizzes and written challenges.

Sixteen of the school's teams performed so well that they earned a place in the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in the United States.

Fifty-two students from the school won 215 medals and eight trophies together.

A Grade 9 student named Urvi Singh was one of the top scholars and had the highest-ranked qualifying team.

Another Grade 9 team made up of Anoushka Raj Kumar, Anahatha Tripathi and Diya Arun also finished high in the rankings.

The theme of this year's competition was "Are We There Yet?".

The vice chairperson of the school, Niru Agarwal, congratulated the students on their success.

Now the students are getting ready for the big final round at Yale University.
