Designer Envisions Yugeen Bharat Museum as India’s Living Story
Kulapat Yantrasast is helping turn two historic government buildings in New Delhi into a very large museum.
The museum will be called the Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum.
Artists and craftspeople from many parts of India will help decorate it.
This is meant to help visitors feel that the museum belongs to all of India.

Architect Kulapat Yantrasast is leading the transformation of New Delhi’s North and South Blocks into the Yuge Yugeen Bharat Museum.
The project will incorporate artisans and craftsmen from across India into furniture, woodwork, stonework, metalwork and other interiors.
Yantrasast says museums must now prioritize inspiration and in-person experiences rather than information alone.
Exhibits will be organized around themes such as adornment, architecture, astrology and cosmology instead of chronology or region.
Historic interiors, frescoes, motifs, benches and selected period rooms will be preserved alongside 21st-century museum technology.
