Andhra Pradesh Crop Insurance Enrolment Surges Among Non-Loanee Farmers
Record response from non-loanee farmers · thehansindia.com

Many farmers in Andhra Pradesh signed up for crop insurance during Kharif-2026.

Crop insurance helps farmers receive protection if their crops are damaged.

The number of non-loanee farmers enrolling rose sharply from the previous year.

Insurance now covers about 72 per cent of the land cultivated during the season.

Farmers can use two government schemes covering several different crops.

Officials said farmers are becoming more aware of weather-related dangers.

The government also encouraged insurance because of possible bad weather, including El Niño impacts.

The enrolment deadlines ended in August.
