Madhya Pradesh bought 5.33 lakh tonnes of summer moong from farmers in 2026.

The buying was done at the Minimum Support Price, or MSP.

MSP is a price meant to help farmers receive a guaranteed amount for their crops.

The central government first approved a smaller quantity for purchase.

It later approved more after Madhya Pradesh asked for additional support.

Officials said all willing and registered farmers were included and paid the MSP.

The moong was mainly purchased through two cooperative agencies, NAFED and NCCF.

Officials also discussed improving crop insurance and using better weather and crop-measuring systems.
