World Breastfeeding Week: Hospital Drive Calls Breastfeeding Baby's First Vaccine

A hospital recently organized a special week to teach mothers about breastfeeding.

The week is called World Breastfeeding Week and lasts from August 1 to 7.

Doctors and nurses talked to mothers about why breastfeeding is good for babies.

Breast milk is sometimes called a baby's first vaccine because it helps protect babies from getting sick.

It gives babies complete nutrition and helps their brains grow.

The doctors also showed mothers the right way to breastfeed and answered their questions.

They cleared up wrong ideas that some people have about breastfeeding.

Babies should be breastfed within the first hour after birth and only given breast milk for the first six months.

After that, mothers can keep breastfeeding while giving babies other healthy food until they are two years old or older.

Breastfeeding also helps mothers recover after giving birth.
