FSSAI Proposes Red Warning Labels for Junk Food
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) wants to put red warning labels on junk food.
These labels will say things like 'HIGH FAT', 'HIGH SUGAR', or 'HIGH SALT' to help people know if a food is unhealthy.
The labels will be big and easy to see on the front of the package.
Not all junk food will have these labels, and they are not being used yet.
The FSSAI is still deciding when and how to use them.

Labels will be prominently displayed on the front of the package with larger font size.
Warnings include 'HIGH FAT', 'HIGH SUGAR', 'HIGH SALT', and 'HIGHLY SWEETENED BEVERAGE'.
Not all junk food will automatically receive a red label.
The proposal is not yet implemented, and there is no announced implementation date.
