Ongole Utsavam marks 150 years of municipal heritage
Ongole held a large celebration for the 150th anniversary of its municipality.
The event included music, cultural performances and awards for achievers.
Former Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Odisha Governor Kambhampati Haribabu attended.
About 150 Ongole Bulls were taken through the town in a parade.
Speakers said a good city needs clean water, sanitation, homes, health care and other services.
They asked people to help protect roads, water bodies, nature and the Ongole bull breed.
Officials also spoke about new homes, industries, ports and other projects.
They hoped Ongole would become a larger and more developed city.
Ongole Municipality’s 150th anniversary was celebrated with daylong programmes at the town’s Mini Stadium.
