Southwest Monsoon Withdrawal Begins Across Parts of Odisha
The rainy-season monsoon has started to retreat from Odisha.
The weather department said it has moved away from most of Bargarh and some areas in five other districts.
The retreat has not yet covered the whole state.
The department expects conditions to support more retreat over the next three to four days.
The monsoon first reached Odisha on June 12.
By June 23, it had reached all 30 districts.
The southwest monsoon began withdrawing from Odisha on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department said.
Withdrawal has covered most of Bargarh district and parts of five other districts.
The districts partly affected are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada and Nabarangpur.
The withdrawal line runs through locations including Ranchi, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Hyderabad and Panjim.
Further withdrawal from parts of Odisha is expected to become favourable over the next three to four days; the monsoon arrived on June 12 and covered all 30 districts by June 23.
