Four Parties File Nomination Papers for Dharapuram Bypoll
Candidates from four political parties submitted their papers to run in the Dharapuram election.
The parties are the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Naam Tamilar Katchi, and Communist Party of India.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is also part of the contest.
This means five major party candidates are expected to compete.
Some independent candidates also submitted papers.
Officials will check the nomination papers on September 17.
Candidates can withdraw until September 19.
The by-election is scheduled for October 6.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Naam Tamilar Katchi, and Communist Party of India candidates filed nominations.

Sathyabama, P. Lakshmanan, and Karthika are contesting for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Communist Party of India, and Naam Tamilar Katchi respectively.
Scrutiny is scheduled for September 17, and the withdrawal deadline is September 19, ahead of the October 6 bypoll.
