Maduranthagam Nominations End With 48 Candidates Contesting Assembly By-Poll
Nominations have closed for the Maduranthagam Assembly election.
There are 48 candidates in total.
Five recognised political parties have official candidates.
AIADMK’s Kanitha Sampath and CPI-M’s P. Suganthi submitted their papers on Wednesday.
Candidates from TVK, DMK and Naam Thamizhar had already filed theirs.
Some of the 48 candidates are dummy nominees or independents.
Officials will check the nomination papers on Thursday.
Dummy candidates are expected to withdraw if the official party candidates are accepted.
