Police Search Former DMK Minister in Private School Fraud Case
Police searched the home of former Tamil Nadu minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
The search happened in Tiruchi on Wednesday morning.
A five-member team from the Central Crime Branch carried it out.
Police also searched six other places in Chennai and Tiruchi.
The investigation involves alleged fraud connected to private schools.
Investigators say money may have been collected from school managements.
The money was allegedly taken in return for promises of official permissions.
These included school upgrades, permanent recognition, and building-plan approvals.
The Central Crime Branch, Chennai City, searched former Tamil Nadu minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi’s Tiruchi residence.
A five-member police team began the search around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The search took place at Poyyamozhi’s home in Thennur Anna Nagar, Tiruchi.
Police sources said searches were also conducted at six locations in Chennai and Tiruchi.
The investigation concerns alleged multi-crore payments collected from private schools for promised official approvals and clearances.
