The banks earned a record Rs 10,176 crore during FY 2025-26.

This was higher than the Rs 6,820 crore they earned the year before.

Their total banking business also grew to more than Rs 13.5 lakh crore.

Fewer of their loans were classified as troubled or unpaid.

The banks opened more than 54.98 lakh new Jan Dhan accounts for people who may not have had bank accounts.

Government officials asked them to provide more loans to rural communities.

They were also asked to improve technology so more people can use digital banking.
