Ridge committee reviews parade ground land-use proposal near Rashtrapati Bhavan
In Delhi, there is a special green forest area called the Ridge.
A group called the Delhi Ridge Management Board watches over it.
The board received 34 requests to use Ridge land for different projects.
One request is about the President's Bodyguard parade ground near Rashtrapati Bhavan.
About 12.6 hectares of land may be used, including 7.58 hectares of protected Ridge land.
The board chose 10 of the 34 requests for a closer look by visiting the site.
Some inspections will be done by the board itself, and others by the Chief Conservator of Forests.
All inspections must be finished before August 20.
