Telangana Cancels Nine MBBS Admissions Over AP-Origin ST Eligibility
Telangana has cancelled nine medical college admissions.
The students were admitted using a quota meant for Scheduled Tribe students from Telangana.
Officials said the students came from Andhra Pradesh and therefore did not qualify for that quota.
A total of 37 candidates were identified as having Andhra Pradesh origins.
These candidates can still be considered for open-category seats if their marks are high enough.
The nine cancelled seats will be offered to eligible Telangana ST students.
The decision followed a High Court ruling about reservation benefits after states are reorganised.
Officials will also check original certificates more carefully in future admissions.
