Gandhi Medical College Leads Telangana MBBS Counselling Choices
Telangana held the first round of MBBS college admissions for the 2026-27 academic year.
Many of the highest-ranking students chose Gandhi Medical College.
Osmania Medical College was the next major preference.
Other popular choices included ESI, Kakatiya, Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad medical colleges.
A student ranked 83rd nationally chose Gandhi Medical College.
The first seat at Osmania went to a student ranked 1,064th nationally.
Older colleges generally filled their open-category seats with higher-ranked students.
Newer district colleges accepted students with much lower ranks.
Officials said all the additional seats received by the state would be filled.
Gandhi Medical College remained the first choice in Telangana’s first-phase MBBS counselling for 2026-27.
Osmania Medical College, ESI, Kakatiya, Mahbubnagar and Nizamabad followed among preferred institutions.
NEET rankers 83 and 158 selected Gandhi Medical College, while the first Osmania seat went to rank 1,064.
Open-category cut-offs reached about 7,535 at Gandhi and 18,251 at Osmania Medical College.
Newer district colleges recorded much lower cut-offs, with seats available beyond the 1.3 lakh rank range.
