PhysicsWallah's Q1 net loss narrows to Rs 88 crore
PhysicsWallah is a company that helps students learn, both online and in classrooms.
The company recently told everyone how much money it made and how much it spent.
This time, the company lost less money than it did at the same time last year.
It lost about 88 crore rupees, compared with 127 crore rupees before.
That means it is getting closer to not losing money at all.
The company also earned more money this year, about 1,054 crore rupees.
It earned money from online classes and offline classroom courses.
One of its biggest courses, the NEET medical entrance exam coaching, was affected because the exam was delayed after a cheating controversy.
The company's founder and leader, Alakh Pandey, said the company is working hard to become profitable.
He also said the company wants to keep education affordable while growing.
PhysicsWallah's net loss in Q1FY27 narrowed to Rs 88.28 crore from Rs 127 crore in the year-ago quarter, though it rose from Rs 69.14 crore in Q4FY26.
Revenue from operations grew 24.4% year-on-year to Rs 1,053.95 crore, with EBITDA of Rs 52 crore and an improved margin of 4.9%.
Total expenses increased 18.29% year-on-year to Rs 1,247.02 crore in the quarter ended June 30.
Online NEET-UG collections fell 28% in Q1, which the company attributed to the delayed exam cycle following the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and cancellation.
Online revenue rose 33% YoY to Rs 549 crore, offline revenue rose 14% YoY to Rs 490 crore, and online K-12 and early learning enrolments grew 41% YoY to 0.78 million.

“Collections from online Neet batches fell 28 per cent in Q1, entirely attributable to this calendar shift. The exam and result cycle that normally drives peak activity inside Q1 was compressed and pushed roughly a month later, well outside the reporting quarter.”
