Vanamahotsavam 2026 Plantation Drive Adds Native Trees in Hyderabad
Officials held a tree-planting event in a Hyderabad park.
It was part of Vanamahotsavam–2026.
About 100 young trees were planted.
The trees included native and sacred varieties.
Some of them can help animals and plants live in the area.
They may also provide environmental, medicinal and spiritual benefits.
MLA Arekapudi Gandhi asked residents to care for the saplings.
CMC official V.V.L. Subhadra Devi said the trees would improve biodiversity and green cover.
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s UBD Wing held a Vanamahotsavam–2026 plantation programme on Sunday.
Around 100 native saplings were planted at Janapriya Colony Park in Maktha Mahabubpet.
The saplings included Eppa, Maredu, Sampenga, Rudraksha, Velaga, Jammi, Sandalwood and Kadamba.
CMC Additional Commissioner V.V.L. Subhadra Devi and MLA Arekapudi Gandhi attended the programme.
Residents were urged to protect the saplings and help increase greenery in the colony.
