Konidela Nagababu asked people to plant and protect more trees.

He said a healthy environment helps provide food, water, air and shelter.

Nagababu and Padmaja planted peepal and neem saplings in Mangalagiri.

The planting was part of a traditional ceremony called Ashwattha Narayana Vivaham.

He warned that tree-felling, mining and pollution damage forests.

He said the previous government focused on cutting trees, while the current coalition government supports planting them.

Aranyaramam has already moved 45 trees to protect them from development work.

A new facility there is being built for ₹24 crore.

Nagababu also urged industries to use CSR funds to help reach Andhra Pradesh’s 50 per cent green-cover target.
