Delhi Assembly Tightens Security Ahead of Monsoon Session
The Delhi Legislative Assembly is a big building where leaders who make rules for Delhi meet.
They were getting ready for a special meeting called the Monsoon Session.
The meeting starts on August 7.
Before the meeting, the leaders wanted to make sure everyone would be safe.
So they planned a big security setup with many helpers.
About 130 security guards will watch over the building.
Special police teams, firefighters, bomb experts and ambulance workers will also be there.
The leaders practiced what to do in an emergency.
This is called a mock drill, like a fire drill at school.
The person in charge, Speaker Vijender Gupta, checked all the plans.
The police told him that everything is ready and safe.
The Delhi Legislative Assembly deployed a multi-layered security arrangement for its Monsoon Session beginning August 7.
Around 130 security personnel and a CRPF Quick Response Team (QRT) were deployed for the session.
Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Assembly Secretariat.
Delhi Police conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Assembly complex to test preparedness and coordination.
Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Devesh Shrivastava said all security arrangements had been completed.
Security agencies involved include Delhi Police, CRPF, Delhi Fire Services, Bomb Disposal Squad, SWAT teams, Detective Unit, Special Staff and ambulance services.
