Police officers in Delhi, the capital city of India, wanted to make sure they are ready to keep people safe if bad people ever tried to attack.

So they did a big pretend practice called a counter-terrorism exercise.

The practice is named 'Sudarshan Shakti' and this was the fifth time they did it.

It started on the morning of August 7 and ended early on August 8.

During the practice, they pretended there were bomb blasts, people shooting, hostages, and even a plane hijacking.

They practiced in important places like the airport, a famous fort, and busy markets.

Many different groups helped, including special police teams, the army, and rescue workers.

The exercise was directed by India's Ministry of Home Affairs.

They did all this practice to be prepared for Independence Day, a big national holiday in India.
