Taslima Nasrin Returns to Kolkata Book Fair After 19 Years

Taslima Nasrin, a famous writer from Bangladesh, came back to Kolkata after almost 20 years to go to a big book fair.

She said she wants to talk to readers and enjoy the old atmosphere of the fair.

She also talked about how the current government in India is different from the ones before and that she hopes people can speak freely.

Nasrin said she supports a new law that would treat everyone the same, especially women.

When she invited a poet named Joy Goswami to speak, some people in the audience protested, and Nasrin felt hurt.

She said she wants to keep the city of Kolkata a place where people can share ideas.

She also talked about the political situation in Bangladesh and how the former prime minister should be allowed to return.

She believes that the new law would help make life fairer for everyone.
