India’s President appointed three High Court chief justices to serve on the Supreme Court.

Their names are Sunita Agarwal, Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Aparesh Kumar Singh.

The law minister announced the appointments on Monday.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended them on September 28.

Once they take their oaths, the court is expected to have 37 judges.

The court is allowed to have up to 38 judges.

One report says the court already has 37 working judges, while another says it has 34 before the new judges join.
