Centre Appoints Seven Judges to Delhi High Court After Recommendation
The government has appointed seven new judges to the Delhi High Court.
These judges previously worked in the district judiciary.
The court can have up to 60 judges, and it now has 50.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended eight people, so one recommended appointment was not included in Saturday’s notification.
Several current judges are expected to retire soon.
Justice CS Sudha is due to retire in October.
Justice Anil Kshetarpal is due to retire in November.
Justices Girish Kathpalia and Manoj Jain are also due to retire later this year.
Another senior judge, V Kameswar Rao, has been appointed Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
