My India Visit Aims to Deepen Long-Standing Swiss-Indian Partnership

Swiss President Guy Parmelin is visiting India for three days.

He says the visit can help India and Switzerland make their partnership stronger.

He was welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The leaders are expected to discuss trade, investment, science, technology and other areas.

They will also talk about regional and global issues.

Parmelin will meet President Murmu, and India’s foreign minister will meet him too.

He is also due to attend a summit about India’s trade agreement with Switzerland and three other European countries.

The agreement took effect on October 1, 2025, and the summit will mark its first anniversary.
