8th Pay Commission schedules state visits for employee consultations
The government of India has a special group called the 8th Central Pay Commission.
This group helps decide how much money government workers and retired workers get paid.
The group is led by a former judge named Ranjana Prakash Desai.
Right now, the group is traveling to different cities to talk to workers and their unions.
They will visit Jaipur, Chennai, Puducherry, and Chandigarh in August and September.
They want to hear what workers think about their pay, allowances, and pensions.
The group will also visit railway workers in Mumbai.
More than one crore people, including about 50 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners, could be affected by their decisions.
