8th Pay Commission Jaipur meetings set for 31 August–1 September
Some important adults have a special job: they decide how much money government workers get paid.
Their group is called the 8th Pay Commission, and it is led by a judge named Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai.
The Commission was formed on 3 November 2025, and it is now visiting cities across India to talk to workers' groups.
It will visit the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan on 31 August and 1 September.
Only groups of central government and Union Territory workers that are based in Rajasthan can attend these meetings.
A group can ask for a meeting only if it has already sent in its written ideas, called a memorandum, and has not talked to the Commission before.
Groups that want to join must send their request by 18 August and include a special number called a Memo ID.
The Commission is also holding meetings in Delhi, Chennai, Puducherry and Chandigarh.
After listening to everyone, it will write a big report with suggestions on salaries, pensions and other work conditions.
The report is expected around May or June 2027, and any new pay changes might start from the beginning of that year.
The 8th Pay Commission, led by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai and constituted on 3 November 2025, will hold stakeholder consultations in Jaipur on 31 August and 1 September.
Only central government and Union Territory employee associations, federations and unions located or registered in Rajasthan are eligible to attend.
Eligible organisations must have submitted a memorandum to the Commission and must not have previously interacted with it.
Appointment requests must be submitted by 18 August and include the unique 'Memo ID' generated after memorandum submission.
The Commission is also meeting stakeholders in Delhi (from 7 August), Chennai, Puducherry and Chandigarh, and is expected to submit its final report tentatively by May-June 2027.
