IMD red alert as heavy monsoon rains batter Delhi, Haryana

In India, there are weather scientists called the India Meteorological Department, or IMD.

They tell everyone when big rains are coming.

Right now they say lots of rain will fall for the next few days.

A big area of low air pressure is forming near West Bengal and the Bay of Bengal, pulling in rain clouds.

People in Delhi have already seen rain for three days in a row.

A red warning was given for some parts of Delhi, which means extremely heavy rain is possible.

An orange warning covers other parts of Delhi, meaning very heavy rain.

Some districts in Haryana and Odisha got red warnings too.

The heavy rain has made roads flood, and an ambulance even got stuck under a flyover in Noida.

The weather scientists ask people to be careful about waterlogging, flooding and traffic problems.
