Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Visits Kanwar Seva Camp, Welcomes Devotees

Many people in India love a god named Lord Shiva, who is also called Bholenath.

Every year during a special month called Sawan, thousands of these people, called Kanwariyas, go on a long walking journey called the Kanwar Yatra.

They walk to the Ganges river in the city of Haridwar to collect holy water.

Then they carry that water all the way back on foot to pour it on a statue of Lord Shiva in a ceremony called jalabhishekam.

This year, a lady named Rekha Gupta, who is the Chief Minister of Delhi, visited a camp for these travelers.

She said hello to the pilgrims and even threw flower petals on them to show respect.

She checked that the camp had food, clean water, toilets, doctors, and places to rest.

The Delhi government is helping the camps with money, cleaning services, health care, and traffic help.

The Chief Minister said that every Kanwariya is treated with respect like Lord Bholenath himself.

She wished everyone a safe and happy journey.
