Air India appoints Tewolde Gebremariam as CEO to lead turnaround

Air India is a big airline in India that is trying to get better after some hard times.

The airline had a plane crash in Ahmedabad and lost money recently.

Now the people who own Air India, called the Tata Group, have chosen a new boss to help fix things.

His name is Tewolde Gebremariam and he used to be the boss of Ethiopian Airlines.

He worked there for more than thirty years and made it the biggest and most successful airline in Africa.

His new job is to make Air India's flights run on time and win back the trust of passengers.

He will also upgrade the older planes and improve how the airline is run.

The old boss, Campbell Wilson, helped combine Air India with other airlines before he left.

Now Mr. Gebremariam will try to make Air India one of the best airlines in the world.
