Plan To Overhaul 40 Sukhoi-30MKI Fighter Jets On Agenda In Key Government Meeting · NDTV

India’s Defence Acquisition Council will meet on Monday.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the meeting.

The council will discuss repairing and overhauling 40 Su-30MKI fighter jets.

These aircraft are an important part of India’s Air Force.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited proposed the work.

The plan needs government approval because it could cost a large amount of money.

India operates nearly 260 of these jets, and 20 were already identified for overhaul last year.

The meeting will also consider requests from the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Approval would begin the process, but it would not yet be a final contract.
