Madhya Pradesh Celebrates Janmashtami With Temples, Matki Phod Events

People across Madhya Pradesh celebrated Janmashtami, the festival marking Lord Krishna’s birth.

Many temples were decorated with flowers, lights and special displays.

Devotees sang bhajans and kirtans and offered prayers.

Special worship, aarti and prasad were planned around midnight in several places.

Children dressed as Radha and Krishna for school programmes and processions.

Students also performed dances, sang devotional songs and joined Matki Phod games.

In Kukshi, eight teams competed to break a hanging pot, and the Bhagawa team won.

People in a Kasrawad jail also celebrated together with prayers and a Matki Phod event.
