Tirupati Begins Door-to-Door Recheck of 90,922 Voters
Election workers in Tirupati are visiting homes to check on 90,922 people who could not be found at their registered addresses.
The earlier survey took place from June 15 to July 24.
Some people may have died, moved, registered in more than one place, or could not be located.
The workers will make these checks over four or five days.
They will also help eligible voters whose names were mistakenly removed.
Those voters can submit a form called Form 6 to ask for their names to be added.
The final voter list is planned for October 16.
People who become eligible later can apply on four specified dates each year.
Booth-level officers begin house visits on October 10 to recheck 90,922 voters not found at their registered addresses.
The voters were marked unavailable during a June 15–July 24 survey for the Special Intensive Revision.
Officers will check voters’ current status over the next four to five days, including whether they are absent, shifted, dead or otherwise ineligible.
Eligible voters mistakenly left off the roll can seek help submitting Form 6 to restore their names through continuous updation.
The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on October 16; eligible people may also apply on qualifying dates of January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.
