Hical Technologies and Safran Aerosystems have agreed to study whether they should create a manufacturing partnership in India.

They have not announced that the joint venture has been formed.

If it goes ahead, it would make complex fuel and fluid systems for Rafale aircraft.

The aircraft are part of the Dassault Rafale program.

The work would support the Make in India initiative.

Hical already works with Dassault Aviation on Rafale control systems.

The announcement came as Hical expanded its aerospace factory in Devanahalli.

The companies say the partnership could help make more advanced aircraft equipment in India.
