Thane Municipal Corporation Cracks Down on Illegal Water Connections
The Thane Municipal Corporation is trying to stop people from taking water illegally from large pipelines.
The campaign is happening in the Mumbra and Diva areas.
Officials said illegal connections were causing water shortages and low pressure.
On September 16, workers removed 29 unauthorised connections.
They had already removed 16 connections on September 8 and 15 on September 11.
The civic body is also starting criminal cases against some people involved.
Police were present to help officials carry out the operation safely.
The campaign is expected to continue until September 30.
Officials will use CCTV cameras, patrols and constant monitoring to stop the illegal pipes from being connected again.
