Delhi Readies for BRICS Summit with Lights, Flowers, Signage
Delhi is being decorated because India is hosting the BRICS Summit.
The meeting is scheduled for September 12 and 13, 2026.
Workers are adding lights, flowers and special signs around important parts of the city.
They are focusing on roads between the airport, hotels and Bharat Mandapam.
Many roundabouts, hotels and public buildings will be lit up.
More than 15,000 potted plants are being placed in prominent locations.
Officials are also repairing streetlights and improving cleanliness.
These changes are meant to make the city ready for visiting leaders and delegates.
Central Delhi is being decorated ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit on September 12 and 13.
Seventeen roundabouts, at least 12 hotels and 10 New Delhi Municipal Council buildings are being illuminated.
More than 15,000 potted ornamental plants, floral boards and fountains are being installed across New Delhi.
The New Delhi Municipal Council has added BRICS-themed LED signs, posters and branding to about 350 electrical panel boxes.
Authorities are inspecting routes, improving sanitation and landscaping areas connecting the airport, hotels and Bharat Mandapam.
