Onam Celebrations Bring Joy but Financial Burden for Keralam Government

Onam is a major festival celebrated by people from Keralam.

People celebrate it in the state and in countries around the world.

The festival gives families a chance to come together and remember their homes.

But the festival also costs the government a lot of money.

The government works to keep prices from rising and makes sure subsidised goods are available.

It also pays pensions, bonuses and festival allowances.

V D Satheesan said the government was happy to provide this support.
