Kerala Government Allocates Rs 2 Lakh for Onam Celebrations
The Kerala government is giving Rs 2 lakh to help children in childcare centres celebrate Onam.
These children will stay at the centres during the festival.
About 250 children at 16 centres will receive the benefit.
The money will be used for a special Onam feast.
It will also help organise outings for the children.
The centres will arrange movie-watching activities too.
The Kerala Financial Corporation sanctioned the money after a request from Minister Bindu Krishna.
Thiruvonam, the main day of Onam, falls on Wednesday.
