Gold and Silver Rates Fall Across Indian Cities
Gold and silver prices were listed for several Indian cities on August 28.
Gold was shown in two common purities: 24-karat and 22-karat.
Twenty-four-karat gold is purer, while 22-karat gold is stronger for making jewellery.
Delhi had the lowest listed 24-karat gold price among the six cities.
Chennai had the highest listed 24-karat and 22-karat gold prices.
Chennai also had the highest silver price in the table.

On August 28, 24-karat gold ranged from ₹1,59,040 to ₹1,59,780 per 10 grams across six cities.
Twenty-two-karat gold ranged from ₹1,45,787 to ₹1,46,465 per 10 grams on August 28.
Silver prices ranged from ₹24,095 to ₹24,207 per 100 grams, or ₹2,40,950 to ₹2,42,070 per kilogram.
Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds quoted ₹14,725 per gram for 22-karat gold, while Tanishq quoted ₹14,805.
Compared with August 27 city rates, August 28 listed gold and silver prices were lower; the August 27 article gives conflicting Joyalukkas and Malabar 22-karat rates of ₹15,030 in prose and ₹15,010 in its table.
