BJP Telangana chief urges vigilance during SIR Phase-2 voter revision
Before elections, governments make sure the list of people who can vote is correct.
This list is called the voters' list.
In the Indian state of Telangana, election officials are updating this list.
This update is called the Special Comprehensive Revision, or SIR for short.
A political party called the BJP held a workshop in Hyderabad about this update.
The party's leader, N Ramchander Rao, told party workers to help new voters sign up.
People who want to vote can fill out a special form called Form-6.
The deadline to do this is August 10.
After that day, officials will check the list for mistakes and remove fake names.
Mr. Rao said it is very important that the voters' list is honest and correct, because fair elections keep democracy strong.
BJP Telangana state president N Ramchander Rao called on party leaders, public representatives, and workers to focus fully on Phase-2 of the Election Commission's Special Comprehensive Revision (SIR) process.
A state-level workshop on SIR Phase-2 was held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Rao directed cadres to accelerate new voter registration through Form-6, as only two days remain before the SIR process concludes on August 10.
After the August 10 deadline, tasks such as reviewing draft notifications, identifying fake votes, and filing objections will follow.
Rao advised booth-level agents (BLA-1) and legal teams to stay vigilant on Form-7 deletions, Form-8 corrections, and polling booth rationalisation, stressing transparency in the voters' list.
