Palvancha enterprise blends organic farming, forest produce processing
In a village near forests in India, a small group started a business in October 2024 to help nature and people at the same time.
They grow food without harmful chemicals and collect useful things from the forest.
Instead of selling these raw items, they turn them into useful products, such as sweets from mahua flowers and powders from moringa leaves.
They also make honey-based items, healthy millet foods, and products from a tiny plant called spirulina.
Machines that use sunshine dry the food so it lasts longer without wasting too much energy.
The group gives work to 20 people, and most of the workers are women who live in villages.
They also help about 15 farmers nearby and raise quails and fish as extra ways to earn money.
Their products are sold in shops in nearby towns and big cities like Hyderabad.
The group won an award from the state for its good work helping tribal communities and women.
The leaders hope the business will grow and show that products from a small village can be loved even in other countries.
Charitha Organic Cultivation and Solar Dryers, a rural enterprise, was established in October 2024 at Petcheru village near Palvancha in Bhadradri Kothagudem.
The organisation directly employs 20 people, including 15 women and five men, with about 15 farmers associated indirectly.
It processes forest produce such as mahua flowers, moringa and karakkaya into products like laddus, powder, oils, tea powder and soap.
Activities include organic cultivation, solar drying, quail rearing, vetiver cultivation, spirulina production, fisheries and millet-based products.
Charitha Organics received the state-level Best Tribal Achiever Award-2026 during Janajatiya Garima Utsav-2026, presented by Telangana Tribal Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar.
Products are sold through outlets in Bhadrachalam, Palvancha, Kothagudem and Khammam, two supermarkets in Hyderabad, and online via charithaorganic.com.
