BRICS Summit Triggers Delhi Train Cancellations, Diversions and Delays
Delhi will host the BRICS Leaders’ Summit in September 2026.
Railway changes will apply from September 11 to 13, while the summit itself is scheduled for September 12 and 13.
Officials say the changes are connected to security arrangements and a Delhi Police advisory about train operations near New Delhi Railway Station.
Twenty-six trains will be cancelled during the period.
More than a dozen other trains will use different routes.
Some trains will begin or finish at stations different from their usual ones.
Other trains may start late, be rescheduled or be held temporarily.
Delays listed in the operating plan range from 10 to 120 minutes, depending on the service.
Some cancellations on September 12 and 13 are also linked to RLDA work in the Faridabad section.
Passengers should check their train’s latest status through NTES or by calling 139.
Northern Railway will cancel 26 trains across Delhi-NCR routes from September 11 to 13, 2026.
More than a dozen local and long-distance services will be diverted through alternate routes.
Some trains will start or end at alternate stations, including Ghaziabad, Sahibabad, Delhi Shahdara and Shakurbasti.
Several services will be rescheduled, delayed or regulated, with listed delays ranging from 10 to 120 minutes.
Passengers should check the National Train Enquiry System or call 139 before travelling.
