Uttar Pradesh Approves Sniper Rifles for Ram Temple Security
Uttar Pradesh is buying new weapons and surveillance equipment for important places.
The Ram Temple in Ayodhya is one of the places that will receive stronger security.
Three sniper rifles and 14 telescope search mirrors have been approved for the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force.
Each sniper rifle will cost Rs 10.76 lakh.
Metro facilities, the Regional Rapid Transit System, Lok Bhawan and the High Court are also included in the security plan.
Three women’s police battalions will receive submachine guns, pistols, assault rifles and ammunition.
The state also wants to replace old weapons used by security personnel protecting public representatives.
These purchases are part of the Police Modernisation Scheme.
