Bombay Dyeing Q1 Profit Falls 49% as Revenue Rises 8.7%
Bombay Dyeing is a big Indian company that makes polyester fabric and builds homes and offices.
In the first three months of its financial year, the company earned a lot more money overall, but its profit became much smaller.
Profit dropped from 13.8 crore rupees to 7.1 crore rupees.
The company's expenses also went up during the quarter.
Bombay Dyeing started a new big building project called THREE ICC.
Starting a new project costs a lot of money at the beginning, which is one reason profits went down.
The part of the business that makes polyester still made a profit.
The part that builds real estate lost money in this quarter.
The company also had to pay a small extra amount because of old legal problems about land.
So the company is selling more, but it is keeping less of that money as profit right now.
Bombay Dyeing's consolidated net profit declined 48.7% year-on-year to Rs 7.1 crore in Q1 FY27, from Rs 13.8 crore in Q1 FY26.
Revenue from operations rose 8.7% YoY to Rs 410.8 crore, while profit fell 66.3% sequentially from Rs 21 crore in Q4 FY26.
The company launched its THREE ICC real estate project during the quarter, with the real estate segment reporting Rs 42.05 crore revenue and a Rs 12.94 crore loss before tax and finance costs.
The polyester segment posted revenue of Rs 350.79 crore and a profit of Rs 8.14 crore, while retail/textile contributed Rs 14.71 crore in revenue.
Q1 FY27 included a Rs 0.74 crore exceptional charge related to provisions for litigated real estate matters, and basic/diluted EPS stood at Rs 0.34.
